"Biographical Information for Daniel Pugel

D.E. Pugel Inc.'s Daniel Pugel is a retired law enforcement officer, a retired financial adviser, and an investment consultant. He resides in Washington's Normandy Park.

Law Enforcement Careers and Education

Pugel earned an Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement from Lower Columbia College and was recognized Outstanding Law Enforcement Student. He also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). He also held positions of leadership at CSULB, such as President of the Associated Resident Students. He is still involved in school activities as an alumnus.

He also got a California Supervisory Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate. Full-time police officers who have successfully completed a certain course of study outlined in the Commission's rule, as well as a probationary period with the employing agency, are issued the POST certificate.

Educating Law Enforcement

Pugel has also assisted in the training of police enforcement officers. He acquired his teaching certifications from UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles) as well as a Master of Science degree from California State University, Los Angeles, in order to do so effectively. He was invited to give a guest lecture on crime prevention at the National Police Staff College in Bramshill, England. The National Police Staff College was the primary police training facility in England and Wales at the time. The staff college closed in 2015 as the College of Policing took over the responsibility of educating English and Welsh police officers.

Pugel has over 20 years of experience as a financial adviser with major firms and later as the founder of his own firm. Morgan Stanley was his first job in the financial industry, which he started in 1998. He began his career as a financial consultant with Morgan Stanley in California, where he was honored with the National Sales Director Award. Later, he worked as a financial consultant for LPL Financial in Seattle, the country's largest independent broker and the top provider of investment services to banks and credit unions.

In January 2004, he launched D.E. Pugel Inc., where he advises individuals on investing, wealth management, and developing a strong financial profile.

Pugel has been in charge of more than $100 million in assets during his tenure as a financial adviser.

Various Professional Interests

Pugel has a variety of professional skills and interests. He was previously a licensed real estate agent with Century 21 in California, where he was involved in 24 real estate transactions.

He's also a licensed private investigator in California, where he's represented attorneys in a number of high-profile cases.

Early Years

Pugel grew up in Seattle, Washington, just 18 miles from where he now lives. He has also resided in Southern California and has traveled to England and Sweden.

Interests and Hobbies

Pugel spends his free time participating in sporty and outdoor activities. He is a member of Seattle's Rainier Golf and Country Club and enjoys riding. He was also an accomplished skier, having earned an advanced certificate from the Ski School of France, one of the country's largest and most prestigious ski institutions.

Volunteering and philanthropy are two terms that are often used interchangeably.

Pugel is a firm believer in giving back to the communities of which he has been a part. He is very interested in education, particularly private parochial school. He is grateful for his own education, which he says has enabled him to be a well-rounded individual and thrive in his various endeavors. He feels that education is the key to young people achieving their goals as a former teacher and trainer. He also believes that all outstanding young people, regardless of their financial circumstances, should have access to a high-quality, well-rounded education.

He has contributed to various scholarship funds, including the Seattle Prep Scholarship Fund, the Lower Columbia College Scholarship Fund, and Kennedy Catholic High School, as part of that objective. Lower Columbia College annually awards more than $250,000 in scholarships based on financial need, academic merit, study program, and previous community service and leadership.

Pugel also contributes to the Alumni Support Fund at California State University, Long Beach. This fund supports campus programs that address student needs but are not supported by student fees or state funds.

Pugel is currently involved with Banchero Disability Partners, a non-profit organization that helps adults with exceptional needs."
